Hawai'i STEM Conference
During the Spring and Summer, the Rascals participate in the Hawai'i STEM Conference. We participate in a wide-range of STEM-related competitions and educational sessions that change with each year.
STEM Conference 2018
The 2018 STEM Conference took place at the Hawai'i Convention Center in Waikiki, O'ahu, HI. Our team competed in the Royer Studios Competition, Cyber Security Challenge, and Product Pitch Competition and presented in the Spotlight Presentation. The Marauder Rascals won the Royer Studios Competition by making a video about a news report on fossil fuels.
STEM Conference 2016
The 2016 Hawai'i STEM Conference took place at the Wailea Beach Resort in Waileia, Maui, HI. With a team of fourteen students, we competed in three on-site competitions: the Cyber Spyware Challenge, the Royer Studios Challenge, and the Program Impact Assessment. We also competed in several off-site competitions: CAD Showcase, Game Design, T-Shirt Design, and Instrumental Music. On top of this, we each explored the field of STEM through hands-on activity sessions and got to meet and interview those who work in the field. The Marauder Rascals won the CAD Showcase, with an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) design, and placed third in the Cyber Spyware Challenge, with an application that allows teachers and parents to easily monitor web history.
