FIRST Robotics Competition
During the Winter and Spring, the Marauder Rascals participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition's Hawai'i Regional. Using a wide range of equipment and industry materials, teams participate in a new, alliance-based robot game each year, which includes an autonomous robot and a driver control period. During matches, all teams seek to score as much points as possible.
The FIRST Robotics Competition is the VEX Robotics Competition on a much larger scale. This is evident by the size of the robots themselves! Teams also compete for a variety of Awards, write out detailed Engineering Notebooks, and create and program
their own Electronics Board. Robots must be designed and constructed within a six-week Build Season.

FRC 2017: STEAMWorks
STEAMWorks was a steampunk-inspired game that involved fueling an airship for liftoff at the very end. Although we went through the build season well, we learned the importance of prioritizing at the regional... the hard way, placing lower than we expected. As we strive to constantly improve, you can be sure that we'll be coming back next year, hungry for a top spot.

FRC 2016: Stronghold
Stronghold was a medieval-inspired game that involved overcoming obstacles, scoring balls into a high goal, and climbing a tower at the very end. For a majority of us Rascals, this was the first FRC that we competed in. This season was also the first time Waipahu High School completed and submitted each award application. Although we did not win any awards or finish as strong as we would have liked, as a young team, we took this game as a learning experience and are looking to improve in the future!
